Hearing the plea of the gods Mother Paramba manifested ten divine forms from her own radiant energy.
From her light emerged Kali Tara Tripurasundari Bhuvaneshwari Chhinnamasta Tripurabhairavi Dhumavati Baglamukhi Matangi and Kamala.
These divine powers defeated the demon Durg and restored the Vedas to their rightful place. Since then the worship of the Ten Mahavidyas has become the central discipline of Gupta Navratri.
In a village lived a woman whose husband was bound by addictions. Anger, drinking gambling and misconduct were common in his life. The woman was devout yet her home lacked peace due to her husband.
One day she reached the ashram of Sage Shringi with a heart full of sorrow and expressed that she wished to worship the Mother but circumstances obstructed her.
Sage Shringi told her to perform the discipline of the Ten Mahavidyas during Gupta Navratri. This practice is secret, disciplined and immensely powerful.
She followed the rules strictly, worshipped for nine days, kept a vow, chanted mantras and observed purity. Gradually her home transformed. Her husband changed and peace and prosperity filled the household.
