Significance of Dev Uthani Ekadashi

- Spiritual and Social Renewal: According to scriptures, observing this fast and worship brings peace, merit and spiritual progress. Offering Tulsi leaves to Lord Vishnu is believed to yield the merit of donating thousands of cows.
- New Beginnings: After Dev Uthani Gyaras, the community resumes all auspicious events, infusing life with positivity and hope.
The Story of Dev Uthani Ekadashi
As per ancient texts, a king and his people observed the Ekadashi fast. One day, a man asked the king for work, agreeing to a condition that he would not receive food on Ekadashi. However, on the fasting day, he became desperate for food. The king, moved by compassion, gave him food. The man cooked and invited Lord Vishnu to eat. Miraculously, Lord Vishnu appeared and dined with him. Witnessing this, the king realized that true devotion and purity of heart attract divine grace, not mere external rituals.
