Discover the exact date, rituals, mantras and the rare Som Pradosh combination of June’s Monthly Shivratri
Monthly Shivratri is a special occasion dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva, observed on the 14th day (Chaturdashi) of the Krishna Paksha (waning phase of the moon) every month. It is believed that observing the Monthly Shivratri Vrat gives the same benefits as the Maha Shivratri. This day is dedicated to the worship of Lord Shiva and is marked by the Shivling Abhishek, fasting, chanting and night vigil. Devotees believe that observing this vrat brings peace, prosperity, relief from ailments, planetary afflictions and the fulfillment of desires. According to Vedic astrology, this day is considered extremely auspicious for awakening the energy of the Shiva element.
In each Prahar, offer water, bel leaves, dhatura, shami leaves, sandalwood, chandan, akshat and sweets to the Shivling.
Additionally, chant "Om Namah Shivaya" 108 times.
The Monthly Shivratri comes during a special alignment of the Moon’s energy, which balances the energies of the mind and emotions, leading to emotional stability and familial happiness. The conjunction of Som Pradosh (Monday) and Monthly Shivratri amplifies the benefits of this ritual. This vrata is particularly beneficial for individuals suffering from Chandra Dosha, Rahu-Ketu Dosha or Shani Dosha in their horoscopes.
