The fast for Sawan Purnima will be observed on August 8. In the evening, at the time of moonrise (approximately 6:42 PM), offering Arghya (water libation) to Lord Shiva and the Moon is considered auspicious, as it brings mental peace and relief from ailments. The Significance of Rudrabhishek Performing Rudrabhishek on this day is also highly beneficial. Those who perform this ritual find that obstacles in their life are removed and their wishes are fulfilled.
The entire month of Sawan is considered sacred but the Sawan Purnima tithi, with its traditions of charity and bathing, holds special importance. Bathing and performing acts of charity between 4:22 AM and 5:04 AM on August 9 is believed to wash away sins and accumulate meritorious deeds.
The festival of Raksha Bandhan is also celebrated on Sawan Purnima. On August 9, there will be no Bhadra Dosha, ensuring that this sacred festival of brothers and sisters will be free from obstacles and full of blessings. The best time to tie the Rakhi will be from 5:47 AM to 01:24 PM on August 9.
