A Complete Guide to Worshiping Ekadanta Ganapati on Sankashti Chaturthi 2025 with Rituals, Muhurat, and Spiritual Significance
In Sanatan Dharma, every Chaturthi dedicated to Lord Ganesha holds spiritual importance, but the Ekadanta Sankashti Chaturthi of Jyeshtha month is considered especially auspicious. Falling on May 16 this year, it is observed to seek the blessings of Ekadanta, a revered form of Ganpati known to remove obstacles and grant peace.
This day is not just a vrat-it’s a sacred opportunity to invoke Ganpati’s grace in your life. Observed during the Krishna Paksha of Jyeshtha month, it is associated with Lord Ganesha's one-tusked form, Ekadanta. Devotees believe that observing fast and worshipping sincerely on this day helps overcome emotional and familial difficulties, especially related to children. It is also said to calm the negative influence of the Moon and remove the stigma of dishonor. One essential point to remember: this fast is completed only after moonrise, as offering Arghya to the Moon is a vital part of the ritual.
While worshipping Ganapati, do chant the mantras of Ganesha. This gives you the special blessings of Bappa.
