Deep analysis of Krittika, Uttara Phalguni and Uttarashada nakshatras under the Sun in Vedic astrology
In Vedic astrology, the Sun is honored as the indicator of the soul, the king of the planets and the source of all life energy. Life without the Sun is inconceivable, just as the body is lifeless without the soul. The Sun's domain is not only limited to zodiac signs but extends to the nakshatras (lunar mansions) it governs, which deeply influence one’s temperament, thought patterns, social skills and life path. The Sun rules over three primary nakshatras: Krittika, Uttara Phalguni and Uttarashada. Understanding their nature, symbols, deities and results is essential for self-awareness and astrological wisdom.
Krittika is called the “Gate of Fire.” According to legend, when Shiva and Parvati’s son Kartikeya was born, he was raised by six nymphs named the Krittikas, hence he is also called Kumar or Krittikeya. The heat of fire, purity and fearlessness express the essence of this nakshatra.
“Be pure and radiant like fire, yet channel your energy towards creation and the welfare of others.”
Uttara Phalguni is often referred to as the “Nakshatra of Marriage.” It is said that Parvati and Shiva’s marriage took place under this star. Aryama, the lord of ancestors and social contracts, governs this nakshatra. It symbolizes friendship, partnership, marriage, agreements and community service.
“Nurture relationships, serve society and fill your life with creativity.”
Uttarashada represents “Unconquered Victory.” Its lords are the Vishwedevas, a group of ten universal deities. This nakshatra stands for wisdom, ethics, dharma and spiritual triumph.
“Bring knowledge into action, live by your principles and remember that true victory belongs to the soul.”
If a native is born in one of the Sun’s nakshatras (Krittika, Uttara Phalguni, Uttarashada), traits of leadership, courage, social consciousness, service and wisdom are naturally pronounced. Such individuals advance with clarity, vigor and purpose. By the Sun’s grace, they may find respect, success and inner balance in society.
Within the context of self-realization and the Sun’s vital energy, this mantra serves as spiritual insight before any practice or remedy.
Tvam brahma tvam vishnustvam rudrastvam indrastvam agnistvam vayuh
Tvam suryastvam chandramastvam brahma bhurbhuvah swarom
You are Brahma. You are Vishnu. You are Rudra. You are Indra, Agni and Vayu. You are the Sun and the Moon. You are Brahman - the essence of earth, sky and the heaven.
The Sun’s stars teach us the profound balance of radiance, service and knowledge in life. Krittika’s fire strengthens our resolve against adversity, Uttara Phalguni’s sociability inspires us to connect and serve and Uttarashada’s faithful principles drive us towards true wisdom and victory of the soul. To be born in one of these nakshatras is to be gifted with clarity, purpose and direction by the Sun.
Sun is the lord of Krittika, Uttara Phalguni and Uttarashada nakshatras. Those born under these stars are often blessed with capacity for leadership, service and wisdom. The Sun’s nakshatra influence graces life with radiance, social harmony and spiritual progress. With proper remedies, positive thought and active living, the Sun’s blessings can shine ever brighter.
