Explore how Adishakti is the origin of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva and the core energy of all creation

In Indian spirituality and the Shakta tradition, Adi Shakti is regarded as the ultimate source of creation, preservation and transformation. Texts such as Devi Purana, Devi Bhagavata, Tripura Rahasya and Devi Gita describe Adi Shakti as the supreme reality and the mother of the entire cosmos. According to these scriptures, Adi Shakti created Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva and initiated the cycle of creation.
Adi Shakti is known by many names such as Mahadevi, Para Shakti and Tripura Sundari.
She has neither beginning nor end.
She is self-existent, eternal and both manifest and unmanifest.
Every deity, every energy and every force of the cosmos is an expression of her.
In the Devi Gita she declares
“I alone am the universe. The powers of creation, preservation and dissolution reside in me.”
Why Adishakti is Considered the Primary Cause of Creation
Tripura Rahasya and Devi Bhagavata describe that at the start of creation only Adi Shakti existed.
There was no sky, no earth and no directions.
She desired to manifest herself into many forms.
From this desire arose knowledge and action.
Through her three glances she manifested three deities
In Devi Bhagavata, Adi Shakti commands
“O Brahma, create the universe. O Vishnu, preserve the universe. O Shiva, transform and dissolve the universe.
You three are expressions of my own three qualities.
Without my energy none of you can act.”
Devi Gita and Tripura Rahasya describe a grand cosmic form of Adi Shakti
This reveals that the Trimurti and the entire universe are parts of her own being.
According to Shakta texts Adi Shakti is the mother of Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva. Every act of creation, preservation and transformation flows from her divine energy. The narrative teaches that every particle, force and consciousness in the cosmos is an expression of the same eternal Mother.
