Discover why Adishakti is seen as the origin of the universe, soul and the Trimurti

Indian philosophy, the Vedas, the Upanishads and the Puranas describe Adi Shakti as the fundamental consciousness from which creation, preservation and dissolution emerge. Texts such as Devi Purana, Devi Bhagavata and Tripura Rahasya call her the primal nature and the supreme energy. Adi Shakti is regarded as the root, foundation and cause of the universe.
According to the Devi Bhagavata, at the beginning of creation only the supreme essence or Shabda Brahman existed.
From it arose the divine intention that “something should exist.”
That intention manifested as energy which became known as Adi Shakti.
She was the first force from which all beings, deities, nature, matter and consciousness emerged.
The scriptures state that the supreme essence entrusted the tasks of creation, preservation and dissolution to its own power.
Adi Shakti used the energies of desire, knowledge and action to expand the universe.
Every movement in creation is driven by her energy.
Adi Shakti expresses herself through three qualities
From these qualities
The Trimurti can function only when the consciousness of Adi Shakti flows through them.
Adi Shakti manifested two forms of light
From these came the individual soul, nature, the five elements, mind, intellect and ego.
Without Adi Shakti there is no soul, no matter and no consciousness.
In the Devi Purana, when the Trimurti appeared, Adi Shakti instructed them
“O Brahma, create the universe.
O Vishnu, preserve the universe.
O Shiva, transform the universe.
Without my energy none of you can act.”
Thus the power, consciousness and ability of the Trimurti depend entirely on Adi Shakti.
Adi Shakti is known as Jagadamba, Maha Maya, Moola Prakriti and Para Shakti.
Festivals like Navaratri and texts like Durga Saptashati praise her as the supreme force.
She is worshipped for strength, protection, prosperity and liberation.
