Ramlala means the child form of Lord Rama, in which he is worshipped as a boy of about 5 years.

What Is Pran Pratishtha?

Pran Pratishtha is the Vedic and Agamic ritual by which the divine presence of a deity is invoked into an idol of stone or metal. After this, the idol is regarded as a living vigraha (sacred form), which receives daily service, food offerings and aarti.

Pran Pratishtha means establishing prana, the divine life force, within an idol.

The Agama texts prescribe several adhivas (preparatory) rituals before Pran Pratishtha, through which the idol is purified.

Ritual Meaning
Jaladhivas Placing the idol in water
Annadhivas Placing the idol in grain
Phaladhivas Placing the idol among fruits
Shayyadhivas Laying the idol to rest on a bed
Netronmilan Unveiling the eyes of the idol
Pran Pratishtha Mantras Invoking the divine presence with Vedic mantras

On 22 January 2024, the main ritual was completed during Abhijit Muhurat from 12:29:08 PM to 12:30:32 PM, in a precise auspicious window of just 84 seconds. That day was Paush Shukla Dwadashi with Mrigashira Nakshatra. At that moment Jupiter was placed in an Aries ascendant, which is considered highly auspicious for a consecration.
