Navratri First Day - Maa Shailputri and Her Spiritual, Astrological and Chakra Connections
Navratri 2025 begins on September 22 and the first day is devoted to Maa Shailputri. As the first among the nine divine forms of Durga, Maa Shailputri is called the daughter of the Himalayas and is also known as Sati Bhavani, Parvati and Hemavati. This form of the goddess stands for nature, courage, stability and spiritual power.

Maa Shailputri was born as the daughter of King Daksha. In her past incarnation, she was Sati, who sacrificed herself in the fire due to her father’s insult to Shiva. Later, she was reborn as Parvati, daughter of the Himalayas and married Shiva. Her story stands for sacrifice, courage and devotion.
The first day of Navratri marks the awakening of spiritual energy and the beginning of a nine-day journey. Worship of Maa Shailputri at the very start brings the message of strength, balance and emotional steadiness.
