The Story of the Divine Weapons

In the Devi Mahatmya tradition, the Goddess appears as the collective form of the radiance of the Devas. The Devas became concerned because of the oppression caused by Mahishasura. From the combined radiance of Brahma, Vishnu, Shiva and other Devas, a magnificent divine power emerged. This power later became known as Durga.
