Discover why no one stays in this sacred abode of Vrindavan after sunset

In this highly mysterious place of Vrindavan certain special rules and a daily cycle are followed. The basic details are presented here for the convenience of devotees so that the sanctity of this spiritual land is maintained.
The pastimes of Lord Krishna on the sacred land of Vrindavan are not merely a part of history. His supreme presence can still be felt in every particle here. The belief regarding Nidhivan is deeply rooted that Shri Radha and Lord Krishna visit here every single night. According to Vaishnava traditions this forest is not an ordinary area of vegetation but it is an awakened spiritual stage.
When the evening gathers its redness an amazing transformation begins to take place in this forest. It is believed that the entire environment invisibly becomes ready for the celestial dance. To witness this supernatural event is not within the power of any ordinary human being. This is the reason why this premises is completely emptied after sunset so that no disturbance is caused to the divine rest.
The most unique feature of this mysterious forest is the distinct shape of the trees here. The Tulsi plants present here do not grow straight upward in a normal manner. On the contrary they appear bent toward the ground and intertwined with each other.
According to religious beliefs these are not ordinary trees but they are the gopis of Shri Krishna. When the Raas Leela begins at night all these trees assume living forms. These trees which are bent in dancing postures return to a calm state during the day. Botanists have also studied this area but they have not been able to find any logical reason for this specific growth pattern.
A small temple structure is located inside Nidhivan which is known as Rang Mahal. This place is considered the resting abode of Shri Radha and Lord Krishna. The daily service method here is performed with deep devotion.
The next morning when the doors of the temple are opened the sight there astonishes everyone. The vessel of water is found empty and the condition of the clothes is changed. Devotees consider this as proof of the direct presence of God.
Most religious places in the world remain open for devotees even at night but the rule of Nidhivan is contrary to this. According to the strict arrangement here no person can stay inside after the evening prayers.
Even wild animals follow this rule completely. The monkeys and birds that stay here all day leave this forest as soon as sunset occurs. Local residents say that nature itself vacates this place for the Lord. People living in the surrounding houses also close their windows so that they do not interfere with this divine secret.
In past years several accounts have emerged where some curious individuals attempted to stay at night. Those people had tried to see this supernatural truth with their own eyes.
According to religious history and local legends whoever made such a mistake had to suffer heavy consequences. Some people lost their mental consciousness and some became seriously ill. These incidents teach us that human beings have a definite limit and they must respect divine mysteries. The wise decision is to keep faith above logic.
The core purpose of a spiritual journey is to free the intellect from ego. This sacred premises of Nidhivan gives us the message that some powers in the universe are beyond our understanding. Maintaining the dignity of this holy land and following the rules is the supreme duty of every follower of Sanatana Dharma.
