In Vedic astrology, the Moon sign reveals emotions, temperament and true personality.
In Vedic astrology, the Moon sign (Chandra Rashi) is regarded as the true zodiac sign of a person. At the time of birth, the sign where the Moon is placed in the Lagna Kundali (birth chart) is called the Moon sign. The Moon governs the mind and emotions, therefore it has a direct influence on thoughts, temperament and personality.
Many people consider their Sun sign as their zodiac but in Vedic tradition, the Moon sign is more important.
Example:
If someone is born on 1 January, the Sun may be in Sagittarius but if the Moon is placed in Cancer in the chart, then the Moon sign will be Cancer.
To find the Moon sign, the birth chart is studied.
Illustration table:
Moon’s position in chart | Moon sign |
---|---|
If number 4 is written | Cancer |
If number 5 is written | Leo |
If number 7 is written | Libra |
Since the Moon changes sign every two and a half days, the Moon sign is considered more personal and precise than the Sun sign.
The Moon sign explains several aspects of life:
In horoscope matching, the Moon signs of the bride and groom are carefully studied.
The zodiac sign in which the Moon is placed at the time of birth in the Lagna Kundali is called the Moon sign.
Because it accurately represents emotions, temperament and personality.
The Sun sign shows desires, while the Moon sign shows nature and emotions.
Because it helps to judge compatibility, harmony and long-term bonding.
In Vedic astrology, the first letter of a child’s name is suggested based on the Moon sign and nakshatra.
