When Earth faced crisis, it was Brihaspati’s wisdom and service that revived life with immortal energy

In Indian mythology, Mother Earth represents nourishment, endurance and the foundation of life. Brihaspati, the Guru of the Devas, symbolizes wisdom and the essence of Dharma. Their story beautifully reflects the nurturing energy of Pushya Nakshatra and teaches that in times of crisis, compassion, knowledge and collective effort restore balance to the world.
There came a time when violence, sin and suffering increased so greatly on earth that rivers dried, crops failed and all living beings were distressed. Burdened by oppression and sorrow, Mother Earth withdrew her energy and transformed into stone. The cycle of life came to a standstill.
Pushya Nakshatra: The Center of Nourishment, Prosperity and Spiritual Energy
Worried about the collapse of life on earth, the gods turned to Lord Vishnu. They prayed for a solution. Vishnu explained that restoring balance required not force but wisdom, penance and compassion. He advised the gods to seek the help of the sages.
After deep reflection, the sages devised an uncommon solution. They requested Brihaspati to take the form of a calf. Brihaspati agreed with humility. The gods and sages performed sacred chants and a ritual around Mother Earth. In the form of a calf, Brihaspati drank the divine milk of Mother Earth. This milk was not ordinary nourishment but a symbol of immortality, knowledge and life force.
As soon as the milk was obtained, Mother Earth awakened. Greenery returned, rivers flowed again and all beings regained vitality. Harmony was re-established on earth and life flourished once more.
During personal hardship, external strength alone is not enough. It is inner wisdom, cooperation and compassion that bring renewal. Within every individual lies the endurance of Mother Earth and the guidance of Brihaspati. Together, they create the harmony that supports life.
